Using WhatsApp abroad.
When you are traveling out of the country, you can still use WhatsApp account via mobile data or Wi-Fi.
However in this case, if you need to re-verify your account, you will not be able to do this on your original WhatsApp number.
Can I use my number in another country?
If you are calling from the US then the phone network substitutes + with 011 (the international dial-out code for the US), or if calling from the UK, 00 . Etc. So, the alternative, if dialing from the US would be to dial 01192 – but this will only work in the US (or any country that uses the same dial-out code).
Will my WhatsApp work with a different SIM?
WhatsApp can still work on the same account if you change the mobile number or SIM card. Once WhatsApp is setup on a device, it’ll stay there until you uninstall it. Switching SIM cards makes no difference to WhatsApp. It will continue to work normally.
Can I use WhatsApp in Europe?
The primary reason why WhatsApp is more popular than SMS in Europe is that it’s free and SMS is not. While users need a working internet connection to send a message on WhatsApp, it is not a big issue for Europeans since the region already has extensive 3G or 4G data connections available.
