Private numbers, blocked, and restricted calls can usually be traced just fine.
However, unknown, unavailable or out of area calls are not traceable because they don’t contain the data needed for a successful trace.
Can an anonymous call be traced?
Speak with your phone company about subscribing to a service called Call Trace. For a small monthly fee, you’ll get the ability to trace anonymous calls coming from your local area. After receiving any “Private,” “Restricted” or “Unknown” call, simply dial *57 and the caller’s info is rerouted to your phone company.
Can you trace a * 67 number?
Isn’t *67 just for blocking caller id and *69? Anything that goes over a phone line or through a satellite can be traced if someone really wanted to. Yes, what *67 does is make your number appear as private. It cannot be traced not even if you *69 and try to call it back.
How can I trace a private number?
The steps are as follows:
- Dial *67.
- Enter the full phone number you intend to call. ( Make sure to include the area code! )
- Tap the Call button. The words “Blocked”, “No Caller ID”, or “Private” or some other indicators will appear on the recipient’s phone instead of your mobile number.
